Music cannot be seen.
And yet, in a mysterious way, it can vividly awaken memories and emotions deep within us.
Have you ever heard a melody by chance and suddenly remembered a distant landscape, or a precious moment spent with someone important?
For a long time, I have wanted to express not only the beauty of sound through the instrument of handbells, but also something that remains quietly in the depths of the heart.
From that feeling, the projects “Rin” and “Sou” were born.
“Rin” represents stillness, transparency, and the feeling of one’s heart gradually becoming calm and clear.
It reflects a pure beauty, like the crisp air of winter.
“Sou,” on the other hand, expresses memory and warmth.
Like a fragrance that suddenly brings forgotten moments back to life, it carries nostalgia and the gentle warmth of human emotion.
There was a moment in my own life when I opened a paulownia wood box containing kimono, and the soft scent of a fragrance sachet instantly brought back memories of my mother.
She was no longer someone I could meet again,
and yet, through that fragrance, her presence quietly returned to me.
At that moment, I felt that memories never truly disappear.
I believe music holds the same power.
That is why I do not simply wish to perform music.
I want to create works that can gently accompany someone’s memories and life.
“Rin” and “Sou” began from that wish.
The instrument known as the handbell still holds many possibilities that remain undiscovered.
Through this instrument, I hope to express not only healing and comfort, but also delicate emotions and profound artistic expression.
I hope these works will allow each listener to discover their own personal landscapes within the music.
And when someone feels the need to pause for a moment in life,
I hope these sounds can quietly stay beside them.
For the first time, I have decided to create an event that combines my music with fragrance.
